3rd Super Robot Wars

Dai-3-ji Super Robot Taisen ("3rd Super Robot Wars") is the third game in Banpresto's immense Super Robot Wars/Taisen series.Six months after the DC War (as chronicled in Super Robot Wars 2), the DC seems to be regaining their former combat strength thanks to the Zabi family. In response, the United Nations has decided to reorganize itself into the Earth Federation.

3rd Super Robot Wars (第3次スーパーロボット大戦) was the third game in a series, the second in the "classic" canon, and the first on the Super Famicom, published on July 23, 1993. Along with 2nd and EX, 3rd Super Robot Wars was released on the Sony PlayStation on June 10, 1999, as part of Super Robot Wars Complete Box and June 22, 1999, as a stand-alone port.

›Story

The story begins six month after the war against the Divine Crusaders (DC) in Super Robot Wars II. The war left the world in a great state of disorder and chaos, and the United Nations was powerless. To solve the crisis, the Earth Federation was established, replacing the United Nations. Members of the White Base were reunited and tasked with maintaining peace, but only old equiptments were supplied to them due to the lack of power available.

While Earth seemed peaceful for a while, cases of sudden disappearances of federal troops began to occur frequently, and Londo Bell was ordered to investigate. Originally it was believed that DC remnants were responsible, but it is later discovered that the true reason behind the disappearances was a threat from outer space, an alien invasion like Bian Zoldark feared that could occur.

A new war begins, with Londo Bell troops fighting against DC (now led by the Zabi family) and the alien forces.

Story

The game take place after the 2nd Super Robot Wars, the Divine Crusaders reformed under the leadership of the Zabi family, led by Gihren Zabi, who plans to use the DC to create a dictatorship. However, as the Federation tries to deal with the resurgence of the DC, a new foe appears, the aliens which Bian Zoldark warned of.
