About

Brain Voyage is an educational video game released for the Nintendo DS in the PAL region and in North America on April 11, 2008, and May 5, 2008, respectively. The player solves puzzles while traveling around the world to iconic global cities and locales that each have five of those puzzles.

Such locations include Cape Town, South Africa; Beijing, China; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; New Mexico, United States; and the Aztec Ruins National Monument. All of the puzzles were designed by the award-winning board game designer Reiner Knizia.

There are five variants for each of the 16 puzzles. These include clones of Memory or Minesweeper as well as a poker/solitaire hybrid in which the player's dealt cards and then he must try to place them in a grid to make the best hands. Depending on his score the player then gets rewarded a bronze, silver or gold medal and some coins which can then be spend for access to new cities (and therefore new puzzles) or purchasing new difficulty levels for any already unlocked puzzle.
